Math 7

October 16

Good afternoon students and parents!

I hope all is going well with everyone! We are coming to the close of first quarter. Next Thursday is the last day. Friday next week there is no school so teachers may work on report cards. Please be sure all missing/absent work is turned in Monday There is a middle school bonfire tomorrow night! Enjoy! Also, good luck to the volleyball teams playing in the end of the year tournament this weekend, and to the soccer team playing early next week! Play to the glory of God!

Here's some reminders for this week:

Grades will be put in this weekend. Please check for any missing/absent work.
Homework is due the next day unless otherwise noted. Absent/Late work should be turned in asap. It is the student's responsibility to get the notes missed from another student. My Absent Work Wall will have a paper in there for the student who was absent on the day they were absent. On that paper is listed what we did that day(lesson with page numbers), what was graded(if anything), and what was assigned(if anything). Anything missing will be a 0 in the grade book until I receive the paper and grade it. I try to have everything updated by Friday.
Papers went home today. The students are to put their papers in their folder. Parents, please check folders. There may be a Do Over paper in there that the student may do again and hand in for a better grade. It is up to the student to redo the paper and hand it in. The redo paper is attached to a clean sheet of paper already labeled and ready to go. They need to hand both papers in for me to grade it.
In math, it is important to show your work. I need to see how you got your answer to be able to help find where a mistake may have been made. Starting Monday, if work is not shown, I will take 10% off from their score. I have explained multiple times to show their work, but it seems to still be an issue. Please, it helps me as well as the students! They see where they made the mistake(and hopefully don't do it again) and I see it so I can help them.
Students need to make sure they have all their materials. They should check the board on my room door every morning. Students need to bring their planners to class every day. I have them write their assignments down daily.
Students should be going over their notes daily. By doing this, when there is a quiz or test, they are prepared for it. It is also a great study habit to have as they prepare for high school.
If there are any questions, please let me know, I am at school around 7:00am. You may also email me at: kbernardini@phcawarriors.com or call the school office and leave a message. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Next week: Formulas-find missing values in formulas, review for chapter 2 test, test chapter 2 is on Thursday- students were given a notecard(on Oct. 14, Wednesday) to write anything they want from the chapter-they may use this on the test

Blessings on an action-packed weekend,
