Beginning with the graduating class of 2029, Indiana high school students must successfully complete computer science instruction as a separate subject to graduate. Under updated state diploma standards, computer science is integrated into STEM requirements alongside foundational courses like biology. Computer Science is a mandatory separate subject, and students must complete a dedicated course of instruction that covers algorithms, programming, and computing systems while receiving in-person instruction to the greatest extent feasible. Per IDOE guidelines, Indiana Computing Foundations for a Digital Age fulfills these content requirements.
