Course Overview
Business Mathematics introduces students to the mathematical skills and concepts used in business, personal finance, and everyday decision-making. Students will learn how to apply mathematics to real-world business situations, solve problems, analyze information, and make informed financial decisions.
Week of August 24 - 28
Monday - Test review and discussion of missed concepts
Tuesday - Test retake and show work assignment over Interest, Payroll, Percentages, Decimals
Wednesday - Begin Fractions
Thursday - Continue Fractions
Friday - In Class assignment over prior 2 days fraction work
Week of August 31 - September 4
Monday - In-Class Review, Correct, Resubmit Adding Fraction Classwork
Tuesday - Continue adding fractions (unlike) and simplifying improper fractions
Wednesday - Quiz Adding (like and unlike) fractions, converting improper fractions to mixed fractions.
Thursday - Begin adding more than 2 fractions (unlike)
Friday - Cont with adding fractions (more than 2 unlike) Prime factorization and Least Common Multiple
Week of September 8 - September 11
Tuesday - Spiral Review of Percentage, Decimal, Adding and Subtracting, Converting Fractions
Wednesday - Finish Subtracting Fractions
Thursday - Quiz/Test Subtracting Fractions
Friday - Adding and Subtracting Mixed Numbers
Week of September 14 - September 18
Monday - Continue Adding Subtracting Mixed Numbers Review
