PGVIM Guitar Orchestra

จากความรักในเครื่องดนตรีกีตาร์คลาสสิกและความชื่นชอบในดนตรี และจากการที่ได้มีประสบการณ์ไปเห็นวงดนตรีกีตาร์ออร์เคสตราในต่างประเทศจนเกิดความประทับใจ จึงมีความตั้งใจที่จะก่อตั้งวงดนตรีประเภทนี้ขึ้นมาในประเทศไทยเช่นเดียวกัน

ความแตกต่างระหว่างวงดนตรีกีตาร์คลาสสิกและวงดนตรีกีตาร์ออร์เคสตราอยู่ตรงที่ประเภทของเครื่องดนตรีในวง วงดนตรีกีตาร์ออร์เคสตราจะมีเครื่องดนตรีกีตาร์คลาสสิกหลายขนาด ตั้งแต่ขนาดเล็กที่เปรียบได้กับเครื่องไวโอลินในวงออร์เคสตราทั่วไป (กีตาร์อัลโต) ไปจนถึงขนาดใหญ่ที่เทียบเท่ากับเครื่องดับเบิลเบส (กีตาร์รอน) จึงทำให้วงดนตรีกีตาร์ออร์เคสตรานั้นมีช่วงเสียงที่กว้างก่อให้เกิดความหลากหลายและสีสันในการทำดนตรีมากขึ้น เกิดเป็นอรรถรสในการเล่นและการฟังดนตรีที่เปลี่ยนไป 

การเล่นในวงดนตรีกีตาร์ออร์เคสตรานั้นเป็นหนทางใหม่ของนักกีตาร์คลาสสิกที่จะมีโอกาสได้มาเล่นดนตรีร่วมกัน ได้มาทำกิจกรรมร่วมกัน ก่อเกิดเป็นกลุ่มก้อน เป็นสังคมของนักดนตรีกีตาร์คลาสสิก เกิดความสุขจากการทำงานร่วมกัน และเกิดการสร้างงานสร้างอาชีพใหม่ขึ้นอีกมากมาย

• การจ้างงานของนักดนตรีกีตาร์คลาสสิกที่มีโอกาสเพิ่มมากขึ้น

• เปิดช่องทางของผู้ที่ชื่นชอบในการเล่นเครื่องดนตรีกีตาร์คลาสสิกว่าสามารถมาเล่นรวมวงกันได้มากกว่าแค่การเล่นเดี่ยว 

• เกิดบทเพลงใหม่สำหรับกลุ่มเครื่องดนตรีกีตาร์ออร์เคสตราโดยเฉพาะและเปิดช่องทางใหม่สำหรับผู้ที่ต้องการจะประพันธ์เพลงในประเภทนี้ 

• สร้างทักษะการเล่นรวมวงให้กับนักดนตรีกีตาร์คลาสสิก 

• เปิดช่องทางสำหรับโรงเรียนประถมหรือมัธยมที่ต้องการสร้างวงดนตรีในงบประมาณที่จำกัดเนื่องจากเครื่องดนตรีกีตาร์คลาสสิกในระดับต้นนั้นมีต้นทุนที่ไม่สูง

ประเภทเครื่องดนตรีในวงกีตาร์ออร์เคสตรา

1. อัลโตกีตาร์ 1

• เป็นกีตาร์ที่มีระดับเสียงที่สูงกว่ากีตาร์ปกติเป็นคู่ 5 เพอเฟกซ์ มีขนาดเล็ก เปรียบเสมือนเครื่องดนตรีไวโอลิน 1 ในวงออร์เคสตราปกติ

2. อัลโตกีตาร์ 2

• เป็นกีตาร์ที่มีระดับเสียงที่สูงกว่ากีตาร์ปกติเป็นคู่ 5 เพอเฟกซ์ มีขนาดเล็ก เปรียบเสมือนเครื่องดนตรีไวโอลิน 2 ในวงออร์เคสตราปกติ

3. อัลโตเชมบาโล

   • เป็นกีตาร์ที่มีระดับเสียงที่สูงกว่ากีตาร์ปกติเป็นคู่ 5 เพอเฟกซ์ มีขนาดเล็ก สายทำจากเหล็ก ผู้เล่นจะต้องนำเข็มมาพันที่มือเพื่อที่จะใช้ดีดสาย ให้เสียงคล้ายกับฮาร์พซิคอร์ด

4. ไพรม์กีตาร์

   • เป็นกีตาร์ขนาดปกติที่นิยมใช้กันทั่วไป เปรียบเสมือนเครื่องดนตรีวิโอลาในวงออร์เคสตราปกติ

5. เบสกีตาร์

   • เป็นกีตาร์ที่มีระดับเสียงต่ำกว่ากีตาร์ปกติเป็นคู่ 4 เพอเฟกซ์ หรือต่ำกว่ากีตาร์อัลโตเป็นระยะหนึ่งออคเทฟ ขนาดลำตัวจะใหญ่กว่ากีตาร์ปกติเล็กน้อย เปรียบเสมือนเครื่องดนตรีเชลโลในวงออร์เคสตราปกติ

6. คอนทราเบสกีตาร์

   • เป็นกีตาร์ที่มีระดับเสียงต่ำกว่ากีตาร์ปกติระยะหนึ่งออคเทฟ ขนาดลำตัวจะใหญ่กว่ากีตาร์ปกติพอสมควร เปรียบเสมือนเครื่องดนตรีดับเบิ้ลเบสในวงออร์เคสตราปกติ

7. กีตาร์รอน

   • เป็นกีตาร์ที่มีระดับเสียงต่ำกว่ากีตาร์ปกติระยะหนึ่งออคเทฟ (เท่ากับคอนทราเบสกีตาร์) แต่ให้เสียงที่ลึกกว่ามากเนื่องจากลักษณะของลำตัวที่จะดูอ้วน คล้ายกับเครื่องดับเบิ้ลเบส ลักษณะการดีดจะต่างจากกีตาร์ปกติตรงที่จะใช้นิ้วโป้งในการดันสายขึ้น และบริเวณคอของกีตาร์รอนจะไม่มีเฟร็ตเหมือนกับกีตาร์ประเภทอื่น เครื่องกีตาร์รอนนั้นสร้างความลุ่มลึกของเสียงต่ำให้กับวง ครอบคลุมเสียงต่ำทั้งหมดในวง

PGVIM Guitar Orchestra

From the love for classical guitar and the passion for music, also from the experience of seeing guitar orchestras in Japan, I was deeply impressed and the intention to create this kind of band was born since then.

The difference between a classical guitar ensemble and an guitar orchestra lies in the type of instruments in it. The classical guitar ensemble is normally a regular sized classical guitar ensemble. However in the guitar orchestra, there are classical guitar instruments of various sizes. From the small size that is comparable to the violin in a common orchestra (alto guitar) to a large equivalent of a double bass (guitarron), the orchestra guitar thus encompasses a wide range of sound, creating more variety and color in music. This results in an intense and changing taste of playing and listening.

To speak from the norm, most classical guitarists are solo artists. Rehearsing and performing alone on one side, a classical guitarist is possible to pursue a career without having to deal with many people. But on the other hands, what is missing is the skill of working with other people. Creating a guitar orchestra is a new way for classical guitarists to have the opportunity to play together, to do activities together, to form a group or society of classical guitar musicians that they live independently in the past. This create new new careers such as 

• The employment of classical guitar musicians might have been increasing.

• Open the way for classical guitar lovers to be able to join in a group more than just playing solo.

• It creates new original repertoire for the guitar orchestral and opens new avenues for those who wish to compose music in this genre.

• Build the skills of playing in a band for classical guitar musicians.

• Open the door for elementary and middle school students who want to create a group music class on a tight budget as classical guitar instruments are relatively inexpensive. The price is varied.

Types of instruments in a guitar orchestra

1. Alto Guitar 1

1. • It is a guitar with a pitch higher than a normal guitar by perfect 5th interval, small in size like a violin 1 in a normal orchestra.

2. Alto Guitar 2

1. • It is a guitar with a pitch higher than a normal guitar by perfect 5th interval, small in size like a violin 2 in a normal orchestra.

3. Alto Cembalo

1. • It is a guitar with a pitch higher than a normal guitar by perfect 5th interval, small in size with strings made of steel. The player plucks the strings with the needle wrapped by a leather cloth in each finger. It sounds like a harpsichord.

4. Prime Guitar

1. • It is a normal size guitar that is commonly used. It is like a viola in a normal orchestra.

5. Bass Guitar

1. • A guitar with a pitch lower than a normal guitar by perfect 4th interval or an octave lower than an alto guitar. The body size is slightly larger than a normal guitar. It is like a cello in a normal orchestra.

6. Contrabass guitar

1. • It is a guitar that has a lower pitch than a normal guitar for an octave. The body size is quite larger than a normal guitar. It is like a double bass instrument in a normal orchestra.

7. Guitarron

1. • It is a guitar that has a lower pitch than a normal guitar for an octave (similar to contrabass guitar), but it gives a much deeper sound due to the appearance of the body that is similar to a double bass. The plucking style is also different from a normal guitar in that it uses the thumb to pluck the strings up. Also the neck of the guitarron has no frets like other types of guitars. The guitarron creates a deep, low-key tone for the band. It covers all the low tones in the band. 

I would like to thank all the teachers who have taught me the music and the classical guitar either directly or indirectly. And I would like to thank Mr. Yuichi Imai, Mr. Toru Kobayashi and Mr. Sira Tindukasiri for opening my eyes for the experience of sound and the charm of the guitar orchestra. 

In addition, I would like to thank the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music for giving me the opportunity to found a PGVIM guitar orchestra and to flourish the classical music in the society.
