งานนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมเครื่องดนตรีกีตาร์คลาสสิกและสนับสนุนให้มีการเล่นกีตาร์คลาสสิกแบบรวมวง เพิ่มกิจกรรมการเล่นดนตรีของนักกีตาร์คลาสสิกให้เพิ่มขึ้น การเล่นกีตาร์คลาสสิกเป็นวงนี้มีเสน่ห์และมีมนต์สะกดในตัวมันเอง ฝึกฝนการทำงานร่วมกันเป็นทีมของสมาชิกทุกคนในวง
การแข่งขันนี้ได้เปิดให้ผู้ที่ชื่นชอบกีตาร์คลาสสิกทุกคนสามารถเข้าร่วมแข่งขันได้ โดยการแข่งขันแบ่งออกเป็น 2 รุ่น คือ รุ่นเล็ก สำหรับผู้ที่มีอายุต่ำกว่า 18 ปี และ รุ่นทั่วไป สำหรับนักกีตาร์คลาสสิกทุกคนโดยไม่มีการจำกัดอายุ

Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music International Guitar Ensemble Competition
(PIGEC)
This event is aimed to promote the classical guitar and to encourage guitarists to play in an ensemble style. It enhances the activities for classical guitar players. The guitar ensemble encompasses its own charm and magic.
The competition is open to every guitar enthusiast. There are two categories; the junior category is for those who are under 18 years old. Another one is the open category which is for any guitarist without age restrictions.
