Cross Country is open to all students in 7th-12th grade, no matter your skill level! Not the fastest runner? No problem! I’m looking for students who are ready to push their limits, build endurance, and grow stronger. Our journey starts in the summer, giving us plenty of time to train and prepare our first race in September. You’ll be running alongside teammates from all backgrounds, pushing each other to be better and forming friendships that last beyond the finish line. It's an awesome way to stay in shape for spring sports! If you’re ready to challenge yourself and be part of something great, Cross Country is waiting for you!
7th-9th Girls and Boys 3200M (1.9 miles), 10th-12th Girls and Boys 5K (3.1 miles)
How long is the season?
Season training starts in July 8, 2025 with trainings 3 times a week in the morning. First races begin in September and end in November.
What days are races on?
Most races are on Saturday, athletes will meet early on Saturday at the high school. Most race days we return by 1pm. District and State races that occur during the school week.
Do I need to purchase any equipment?
At the beginning of the season, athletes are fitted for a running shoe at Rush Running. Athletes will receive a $50 dollar voucher towards a new shoe purchase. It is not required to make this purchase. I do recommend having a dedicated running shoe as athletes will run dozens of miles over the course of a season. Running shoes with spikes are a good investment for serious runners. I recommend having a gym bag, water bottle, and slides. Uniforms will be provided as well as team sweats. I plan on adding running fanny packs for athletes to use during self guided practices.
How do we sign up?
If you missed the informational meeting, contact Coach Mariela Delgado first. Fill out the initial interest form so I can learn more about the runner! Read and sign the athlete contract. Set up a FamilyID account and fill out the necessary forms. Once I receive all the necessary health documents, your runner will be added to my roster and can begin practice.
How can I get involved?
Running is a mentally challenging sport! We would love for any family members/ fans to come support your runners during a race. Those sideline cheers are all the motivation your athlete needs! We would love anyone interested in photography to come out and capture our story. Anyone willing to help pack snacks and set up home base. There are several parents who attend every race. We would love to meet you!
