Mrs. Melissa Gilmore grew up in Syracuse, New York. She graduated from Syracuse University in 2004 with a Bachelors’ Degree in Music Education with an emphasis on Trumpet Performance and in 2005 with a Masters’ of Music Education.
Mrs. Gilmore taught band, jazz band, marching band, and orchestra in California and New York before moving to Mississippi in 2011. For the last 10 years, Mrs. Gilmore has taught mainly Choir as well as General Music and Orchestral Strings at Gautier Middle School. She served as the technology liaison for Gautier Middle School for 3 years, assisting the teachers at her school with technology concerns and issues. She has an avid interest in using technology to benefit and assist students in their learning journey as well as to increase the general efficiency of the classroom environment.
Mrs. Gilmore enjoys living on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi with her husband, two daughters and two cats.
