Kelly Banks is a twenty-five year veteran teacher in the Pascagoula-Gautier School District currently teaching sixth grade reading at Trent Lott Academy. She received a B.A. degree in Paralegal Studies from the University of Southern Mississippi. She received her alternate route teacher certification in English in 2001. Banks has been active in the area of integrating technology in the ELA classroom. She is an avid user of Google Apps for Education, Promethean Software, iReady instructional programs, and most recently digital interactive notebooks. She has been Teacher of the Year in 2007 and 2013. Her other achievements include several Google Fundamentals certifications, Octave Educator certification and a 2017 Fund For Teacher Fellow. She has been recognized as an A+ Technology Teacher for PGSD for the 2018, 2019, and 2021 school years.
