Q: How are interns selected for the program?
A: Interested candidates apply for a position on the Prince George's County Youth@Work/SYEP website. 16-17 year old candidates are randomly selected and referred to PGCPS for work opportunities. The SYEP@PGCPS team assigns interns to various office and school locations within the district.

A: All interns are invited to participate in a Youth@Work/SYEP and PGCPS orientation. Additionally, all supervisors will lead an orientation for their team to include assignment specific information such as a day in the life, expectations, sign-in procedures, professionalism, work/lunch hours, call-in process, safety protocols, etc...
Q: How many hours can the youth work?
A: Based on the program guidelines, interns may work up to 32 hours per week. Their specific schedule is determined based on the needs of the school/office.
