Quarterly Grade Appeal Process

Please review the attached excerpt from Administrative Procedure 5116 regarding Grade Appeals Authorizations which can be found on the PGCPS Website.

Process Overview:

 Download and print the attached form Attachment B: AP 5116

• All grade appeal forms must be signed by a parent or guardian.

 Scan and submit the completed grade appeal form and all supporting documentation (evidence required) via email to Mr. Powell at Dameon.Powell@pgcps.org, and cc the teacher for the class being appealed.

 The SIT Grade Appeal Committee will begin reviewing all submitted appeals.

 Students, parents, and teachers will be notified of the committee’s decision within 15 days of the release of the Quarter 1 report card (except for 4th quarter appeals).

 All grade appeals for each Quarter of the 2025–2026 school year must be submitted by the appropriate deadline to Dameon.Powell@pgcps.org. Check PGCPS website for deadlines

 A separate grade appeal form must be completed for each class being appealed.
