All summer school courses will be held in one of the following formats:
PGCPS Edgenuity-Based Courses
PGCPS Google Classroom
Students enrolled in PGCPS Edgenuity-Based Courses will model the High School Summer Learning Programs policies and procedures utilized throughout the school year. Students will be enrolled in a course with no more than 25-30 students. Students will receive a PGCPS teacher who will support their learning two hrs per day as students continue working on their course throughout the duration of the program. Students must access their course everyday, complete all of the cascaded assignments in their course calendar each day, and complete 100% of their course with a passing grade of 60% or higher.

Students enrolled in the Google Classroom based courses will participate in courses with PGCPS teachers via our platform Google Classroom. Adhering to a customized summer school curriculum, PGCPS teachers will offer instruction throughout the duration of the summer program. Students are expected to attend their summer session course two hours per day Monday - Friday in addition to completing additional assignments outside of regular class time in order to earn the desired credit(s).

Each High School Summer Learning class is one (1) hour in length. All students are expected to attend class the entire time.
Students will be required to complete assignments outside of class time in order to complete their online course on time.
Enrollment in the High School Summer Learning courses requires a working chromebook or laptop and access to the internet at home in order to complete coursework. Students may not complete their coursework via a cell phone/smartphone device.
Students must maintain a notebook to house their notes and classwork assignments throughout the duration of the High School Summer Learning Program.
Establish daily routines for learning.
Identify a space at home where you can focus and complete at-home assignments on time.
Regularly check Google Classroom or the platform your teacher is using and your PGCPS email for updates every day.
Communicate with teacher(s) and Professional School Counselor if you do not have the resources to participate in distance learning this summer.
Submit assignments on time.
Be a good global citizen each and every day!
Students must attend class everyday throughout the duration of the summer program. Students can not miss more than two (2) absences in order to successfully finish their High School Summer Learning course(s).
When students are absent due to illness or connectivity concerns, the parent should communicate via email to the teacher. Teachers should be checking their email messages daily (except weekends) and should keep a record of the emails received to enter daily attendance as required.
The Prince George’s County Public Schools dress code policy is in full effect for the duration of summer school. While students are participating in summer learning, it is the expectation of the school system that both students and staff are appropriately dressed.
