Oaklands Elementary School is fortunate to have a strong partnership with Bowie State University. We are a Professional Development School that works closely with students from Bowie State who are interested in entering the field of education. These students come regularly to observe the classroom and interact with the students. Many fulfill graduation requirements by completing their student teaching internship. This internship allows them to work closely with the teacher and gain experience in planning and teaching lessons, using the curriculum, being a disciplinarian, and managing a classroom of students.

Oaklands has had much success with this program and we feel that our partnership with Bowie State University is strong and will continue to grow. Congratulations to all the current and former students that have been a part of the Oaklands Falcon Family!
