About the Director

Tim Dignen is from the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  He attended North Caroline High School and graduated in 1998.  In 1999, he marched with the World Class Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps.  He attended and graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2003 with his B.A. in Music Education.  He studied trumpet with Dr. John Lamkin.

In 2003, he began teaching at Forest Park High School in Baltimore City.  The following school year he relocated to Prince George's County and taught at Bladensburg High School, Suitland High School, and Drew-Freeman Middle School.  All programs required groundwork and a foundation to be set as these programs were all brand new.  His ensembles received excellent and superior ratings at county and state assessments as have the students with their small ensemble performances.

More recently, Mr. Dignen completed his B.A.+45 at Trinity University and is a member of several professional organizations:  National Association for Music Education (NAfME), Maryland Music Educators Association (MMEA), National Band Association (NBA), Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA) and the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps Alumni Association.

Mr. Dignen is currently entering his 21st year of teaching.  He is very passionate about his students and music education.  Each year he tries to provide the best musical opportunities while offering life lessons along the way.

Mr. Dignen also has two cats named Jazzy and Melody.
