READING

Ms. LaMetra Israel

Hello GPMS family! This is year 19 for me here in Prince George's County Public Schools where I first taught at the elementary school level for 12 years before moving to middle school. I'm originally from upstate N.Y and I have 3 awesome children who keep me very busy. I have enjoyed not just the triumphs but also the challenges of education. As an avid reader, I believe that students should be challenged or they will easily become bored. I like to be animated and have fun while teaching and learning and so while distance learning may present some challenges, I'm fully committed to making it work and I hope you will be as well.

MATH

Mr. Kyle Jackson

I have lived In PG County my whole life, and I coach football at Bowie State University. I graduated from Wise HS and Bowie State University. This is my 2nd year teaching. Math has always been my favorite subject, so I am delighted to teach Math to all my students. In my spare time, I like to play Madden.

I enjoy teaching through fun activities & interactive learning modules such as videos. I believe that in order to be engaged the work has to catch the attention of our students. I hope that we as students & teacher can have the same relationship we would if we were in the classroom with one another and be able to have fun & learn effectively.

Never let the circumstances define you, success comes from preparation & consistency.”

SCIENCE

Mrs. Yolande Williams

Hello, my name is Mrs. Yolande Williams. I am married and I have an 11-year-old son named Jayden. I am originally from Grenada, West Indies. It's a small island in the Caribbean. I was nine years old when my parents moved to the United States. I lived and grew up in New York for most of my life. I taught in New York for many years prior to moving to Maryland. I have had the privilege of being a part of Gwynn Park Middle School since 2017. After spending eighteen years teaching at an elementary level, I was excited to expand my role as a six-grade science teacher here at Gwynn Park Middle School. I am incredibly passionate about building a solid science foundation where students can explore the world around them. I will end with one piece of advice. You should always remember to strive to do your very best even if it may seem unattainable. I look forward to making this year a rewarding school year!

My name is Ms. Robinson. I am a product of Prince George's County Public Schools (K-12) and have lived here in Gorgeous Prince George's my whole life. I attended the University of Maryland, College Park for my Bachelor of Arts degree, The University of Maryland, Baltimore for my Master's in Social Work and I am currently pursuing my second Master's degree. I have worked for PGCPS in various capacities for the last 11 years. This year (2020-2021) I am transitioning from the math department to the social studies department!

As a teacher, I have high but realistic expectations for my students because I believe in them and I know all of my students can achieve and be successful in my class, in the school, and in life. I try to give my students all the tools they need to be successful and motivate them to use them and believe in their own ability. I know we will have a great year!
