A: Preselected core course means the assumption is made you will pass your current course(s) and will be promoted to the next most logical course the following year based on your final grade in your current course(s). Here are examples:

If you are in 420693 Biology Honors, you will automatically be placed in 430193 Chemistry Honors
If you are in 323503 Algebra 1, you will automatically be placed in 344003 Geometry
If you are in 104193 Engl Lang 10 (honors), you will automatically be placed in 105193Â Advanced Placement English Language which must be requested
If you are enrolled in a CTE Program course, you will be scheduled for the next progressive course in the sequence for the upcoming year

A: Let your current teacher and professional school counselor know. Your teacher can communicate with the department chair who can evaluate the request and make the recommended change (if warranted) in a shared doc at a later date. Keep in mind there are prerequisites that govern placements.
