Welcome to the Gwynn Park High School Course Request Page!
The Process
This year we are submitting course requests for next school year through our Synergy SIS platform. Core courses will be preselected based upon prerequisite course performance. These requests are for elective or Advanced Placement (AP) course requests only This year's priority submission window is from February 9, 2026, to March 6, 2026. Students must submit a minimum of 5 credits worth of elective and/or AP course requests for the year. From those requests there will be primary (first choice) and alternate (backup) requests . These requests will be reviewed and vetted by the scheduling team for accuracy and proper prerequisites. Be advised that certain elective courses are required graduation and are added to requests in a particular year to meet these requirements. Our next year's scheduling timeline is very strict; thus when students fails to submit course requests within the specified priority request window, courses can and will be selected for them by the scheduling team WITHOUT the opportunity to change.
Requesting Honors Level, Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment
Students must also use the Honors /Advance Placement & Dual Enrollment Request Form to verify Advanced Placement Course requests. Requests from this form will also be vetted by instructional staff for recommendations to the scheduling team. Therefore, it is imperative to read and follow the instructions on the form to minimize the risk of getting scheduled incorrectly. If you have further questions, please contact your counselor.
Upperclassmen students planning to take a "Dual in the School" dual enrollment course next year or summer should share that intent with their professional school counselor in the special notes section of the Honors /Advance Placement & Dual Enrollment Request Form. Additionally, please use the links below, to view the course offerings spreadsheet. This sheet provides guidance regarding pre-requisites and associated graduation credits. Additionally, a course description link is provided.
