Today in Ms. Reid's science class students discussed “what are properties of matter?”

Students were given the following scenario: You are on a beautiful island. The sun is beating on you and you are getting really hot, but you left your favorite hat at home. Create a hat to keep the sun off you. What kind of hat do you think you need? What properties will your hat need to have? Here are some pictures of the students creations!

Mrs. Reid's Second grade class learned about the human skeleton on a virtual reality field trip into the human skeleton on google expedition. They created x-rays of their hands and labeled the bones the learned about.

Students did a read aloud of Harold and the Purple Crayon. To summarize the text, First grade students drew all of Harold's creations with their own purple crayon as an assesment.

Ms. Moore's Class created posters and created tableau's as a summative visual and drama that shows what students know about the revolution and rotation of the sun, as their Art in education week assignment.

Ms. Reemer's class celebrates Art in education Week by creating a collage that serves as a summative visual arts assignment. Students displayed their understanding of the difference between living and non living by creating a collage.

April Is for Arts Integration!



The April Arts integration Bulletin Boards are displaying the AI lessons we have done this month!

Students create their own sculpture in their Maker Space. Students then create expository writings for directions on how to build there sculpture, using technical writing sentence starters.



Miss Lewis' self contained class, a part of our Autism program, did an arts integrated lesson integrating science, RELA, and collage art. Students read and then discussed the differences between light and sound, using compare and contrast shown through collage art.
