In the event of severe weather that requires students to be absent from school in the future, PGCPS has prepared a virtual learning plan. Virtual learning must include four hours of synchronous (live) instruction to count as a school day. The community will be advised when the Virtual Learning Day plan has been approved and should be activated.
In these cases, students may use personal devices at home to access their instructional materials. Or, through ParentVUE, parents/guardians may request a PGCPS chromebook to use temporarily during virtual learning. The information below shares more for families about the preparing for, conducting and concluding virtual learning.
In preparation for virtual learning ensure your student has access to a working device and knows their password.
If your student needs a device, update the "Do you need a temporary device for virtual learning?" section in ParentVue.
Does your child know their username and password for their school chromebook?
If in doubt, ask your child's teacher. Password managers at your child's school can reset your child's password and confirm their username, if needed.
Can your child login to Clever?
The PGCPS username and password provides access to Clever.
Younger students (grades PreK to 2) may hold their Clever badge (QR) up to the camera to login to Clever. Clever badges can be issued by your child's teacher.
During virtual learning, your child will connect with their teacher virtually.
They will navigate to Clever to locate their Canvas course and virtual meeting link.
