Hugs, kisses, and being helpful are ways we show love to each other. Do animals show love?
One animal that shows love is the Satin Bowerbird. The Satin Bowerbird collects blue items to decorate their bower. Things they might use are bottle caps, blue clothes pins, and drinking straws. This helps them find the perfect female Bowerbird. Female bowerbirds are naturally drawn to blue, making it the perfect color for attracting a mate. When a male attracts the attention of a female, he begins his courtship display around his bower.
Another animal that shows love is the French angelfish. French angelfish are almost never seen alone. Pairing helps them travel, hunt, and defend their territory from other species. If they ever separate, French angelfish reunite by circling each other which is called “carouseling” to show their bond.
Elephants are another animal that shows love in a special way. Elephants show love by rubbing their ears on other elephants' ears. Sometimes they intertwine their trunks with other elephant’s to show love. Elephants show empathy towards their family and friends.
Humans aren’t the only ones that show love. Animals also have unique ways to show love for each other.
