Earl Woods Scholar Program due 3/12
The Earl Woods Scholar Program was created in 2006 to honor the vision and spirit of Earl Woods, Tiger’s father, and mentor, to continue his legacy of caring and sharing. The program goes far beyond financial assistance. Holding one of the highest graduation rates among scholarship programs in the country, our unique program is committed to ensuring every scholar is supported throughout their time in college and beyond. Once selected, our scholars receive continued guidance throughout college with mentorship, personal and professional development workshops, and internship placement assistance to ensure our scholars succeed and graduate with their bachelor’s degree.
The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors, Class of 2024, in select schools in the DMV area with a minimum 3.0 GPA that have plans to enroll full-time in an accredited four-year university in the United States in the upcoming academic year. Successful candidates will be selected on the basis of academic achievement, demonstrated financial need and a proven commitment to community service.
Our application is now online. The application provides a general overview of the scholar program, eligibility requirements and documents to gather prior to starting the application. Students will also find the link to the application and can click on “Apply Today” or use the QR code to apply. The application is due by March 12, 2024.
The application is not located on our website, so please ensure that you disseminate this information to eligible seniors only at your school site. Selected recipients will receive a scholarship of up to $5,000 (renewable for up to four years) and will be provided with holistic student support throughout their college career. Finalists will need to be available for an in-person interview in April 2024. Recipients will be announced in May.

The deadline is March 22, 2024!!
If you have any questions regarding the MGM-PGCLDCP scholarship or questions about the Kaleidoscope application platform, please email help@mykaleidoscope.com.
Historically, students at Crossland HS, for whatever reason, have not applied for these scholarships in droves and we have had to beg students to apply (I know, that's a shame, right?!) This also means that, with a smaller number of students applying across all of the high schools, there has been less competition for these scholarships. This has translated into students having had a GREATER chance of snagging a scholarship, provided they submitted a complete and decent application packet.
In addition to the Superintendent Scholarship ($5,000 each to 4 PGCPS graduating seniors); Leadership Scholarship ($3,500 each to 12 PGCPS graduating seniors); and the Student Service-Learning Scholarship ($3,500 each to 9 PGCPS graduating seniors), here are scholarships that are specific to select CTE programs/students:
Culinary Arts Scholarship: $3,500 each to 3 PGCPS graduating seniors
Technical Scholarship: $3,500 each to 3 PGCPS graduating seniors - for any senior in the following programs: Business Management and Finance, Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, Interactive Media Production, IT CISCO Academy, Environmental Studies: CASE, PrintEd, Project Lead the Way- Pre Engineering, or Project Lead the Way-Biomedical Sciences.
Trade Scholarship ($3,500 each to 3 PGCPS graduating seniors) - for any senior in these programs: Automotive Technician, Auto Body Repair, Barbering, Carpentry, Child Growth and Development, Cosmetology, Electrical, Firefighter/EMT, HVAC, Masonry, Nursing, and Plumbing.
Please Please Please APPLY. If you would like support, assistance, guidance, there are MULTIPLE people who can support and help you. Those people are:
Mrs. Billingslea (your 2024 Professional School Counselor),
Mr. Givens (your Class of 2024 Administrator),

The FSA ID is an electronic signature used to sign the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and federal education loan promissory notes. The FSA ID consists of a username and a password.
Who should get an FSA ID?
The student and the student‘s parent (if the student is a dependent student) each need their own FSA ID. Each FSA ID must be associated with a different email address.
The parent should not create a FSA ID for the student and the student should not create a FSA ID for the parent. Doing so often leads to problems. It is also illegal.
Never share your FSA ID with anybody, not even a relative!
