IDENTIFICATION PROCESS

TAG IDENTIFICATION PROCESS

Parents who wish to have their child screened for TAG identification should follow the directions. The steps of the screening process are as follows:

2. Once the TAG Coordinator has received an email, the screening process will begin using available data.

3.  Students scoring at the 89th percentile and above on at least one Reading or Mathematics standardized achievement tests (PARCC,  MAP-R, or MI) are qualified to be tested for the TAG identification.

4.  Teachers will be asked to complete a Teacher Checklist after observing the student in their classroom for 4-6 weeks.

5.  Quarter One grades will be acquired and used by policy/procedure.

6.  A SIT/TAG Committee will meet to determine whether or not the student is a viable candidate for testing.

7.  If the committee decides yes, the TAG Coordinator will request the OLSAT test (Otis Lennon School Ability Assessment Test) from the  TAG office.

8.  The test will be administered to the student(s) and returned for evaluation.

9.  Upon receipt of the test results, the coordinator will then complete the additional paperwork necessary and submit all forms to the TAG  office for final approval.

10.  Once the results for identification are received, parent(s)/student(s) will be notified by the coordinator in a letter via USPS mail  stating whether or not the student met the criteria for TAG. If the student met the criteria it is for           placement the following school  year.
