Steps to become a Rules Official
Steps to become a Rules Official
You will need to volunteer for a year as a prerequisite. (5 events or more is considered a full year of volunteering), unless you are a PGA member.
After a full year of volunteering, you must attend a USGA Rules of Golf Workshop. (USGA Workshop schedules is here and linked to homepage).
The section will cover the seminar cost of the USGA Rules of Golf Workshop (Click here for Workshop Schedule), but not travel and food expenses.
At the end of the workshop you will need to take the 100 question exam and your pay scale will be determined based on the score of your exam.
