Notify Regional Recruiting Specialist and Career Consultant of the Section where the event will take place, along with the PGA of America District Director. For information on your Recruiting Specialist or Career Consultant, please click here.

Coordinate with host golf facility with sponsorship funding (If Applicable)
Attend Event - see tips/tricks tab
Promote speaking points, take photos, distribute marketing materials (Do What You Love Brochures, ball markers, etc.)
Track/record how many Coaches, Parents, Student-Athletes are in attendance (Impressions)
Gather personal information via spreadsheet (e.g. First Name, Last Name, email, phone number) (Leads)
Event Follow-Up:
Fill out event feedback form detailing event summary and future improvements
Communicate with individuals post-event with personal emails or utilize an email script here.
Receive invoice from facility regarding sponsorship and submit via proper channels for payment
Send thank you and event recap to event host and other contacts involved
Please make sure to check the "strategic funding" box in both the event request and event recap form.
Know your audience
If you are attending/hosting a "short-term" or "active recruitment" event, highlight jobs.pga.org and share current positions that you know are available
Speak to the business skills used in the golf industry and your own career journey
Audiences include but not limited to: Collegiate Students/Athletes, Military, D&I Groups, Job Seekers, etc.
If you are attending/hosting a "long-term" or "awareness" event, highlight all the opportunities in golf and the BENEFITS of the industry
MAKE IT FUN!
Audiences include but not limited to: Junior Golfers, High School Students, etc.
Promote during non-competitive moments at an event
Set up at a practice round, lunch, dinner, social event, etc. where players and individuals have the time/attention to listen to your message
If you are attending a pre-planned recruitment event,
Bring "swag", giveaways, food, etc.
Ask to be in a "high touch area"
Great locations include: starting on the first tee, nearby scoring, etc.
If you are hosting a recruitment event,
Provide an opportunity to promote message
Dinner, lunch, awards, etc.
Utilize panels with Section PGA Professionals with varying positions

Ask questions
Actively promote job opportunities within diverse communities:
Minority Serving Institutions (i.e. Historically Black College & Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions, etc.)
Local Fraternities/Sororities
Diversity-focused collegiate clubs
Diverse community groups
PGA Professionals should ask these questions:
Have you created an enjoyable work environment?
What time off am I offering? One weekend day off each week? Rotational schedule, etc.?
What are my work/life balance expectations?
What is my holiday schedule? Am I expecting the same employees to work each holiday or rotating?
What type of social activities am I encouraging?
Am I motivating my employees to golf if they desire?
Do I have a specific area in my facility that employees can de-compress/eat lunch/take breaks?
Evaluate your employee benefits & compensation packages. How do they compare to other companies/golf facilities in your area?
What are companies outside the golf industry offering?
Do you offer reimbursement or allowance for continued education?
Referral bonus for staff that recruits a new hire?
Do you offer creative benefits such as access to the golf course, or other club amenities, on staff member's days off?
Do you offer a health and wellness stipend?
Do you mentor and advance your employees?
