The health and safety of our PGA Members, volunteers, rules committee and staff has been, and remains, the PGA of America’s top priority. We realize the fluid nature of this ongoing crisis, therefore, we anticipate the likelihood for additional protocols to be implemented throughout the next few months (which we will continue to share on an ongoing basis). Due to our new realities, it is a condition of the 2020 Assistant PGA Professional Championship that contestants and alternates must undergo mandatory COVID-19 testing once on-site, and RECEIVE negative results prior to entering Contestant Registration or utilizing any PGA Golf Club areas designated for the Championship, including practice facilities and/or courses (Wanamaker, Ryder, Dye ). An Acknowledgement of Risk and Waiver of Liability form, requiring signature, is now part of the registration process and will be emailed to you after the entry deadline of October 21. Entrants will assume all risks and waive all liability in connection with the Championship, including any risks associated with testing, and the risk of contracting a communicable disease in connection with the Championship.
PLAYERS AND ALTERNATES MUST UNDERGO COVID-19 TESTING ON-SITE.
ANYONE TESTING POSITIVE TO COVID-19 WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY.
DAILY THERMAL SCREENING FOR ALL PLAYERS AND POTENTIAL ALTERNATES WILL BE REQUIRED.
CADDIES ARE PROHIBITED.
USE OF GOLF GAR IS MANDATORY, ONE PLAYER PER CAR.
A "NO SPECTATOR POLICY" IS IN PLACE, WHICH INCLUDES NO FAMILY ALLOWED ON COURSE.
The testing and clearance procedures are subject to continued review and refinement. Once on-site, all players and alternates must undergo testing. It is strongly recommended that all players and potential alternates undergo testing prior to their departure for the AsstPPC, as those testing positive on-site will not be allowed to play in the Championship. Mandatory testing will occur during Monday November 9th, Tuesday November 10th., and Wednesday, November 11th. NO CONTESTANT REGISTRATION OUTSIDE OF THE DAYS AND HOURS LISTED WILL BE ALLOWED. Results will be provided to the PGA of America prior to 7:00 a.m. the morning after each test. In addition, mandatory daily thermal screening for all players and potential alternates will be administered. In the event that an individual registers a temperature greater than or equal to 100.4° Fahrenheit during daily screening, they will be re-screened after 5 minutes. If their temperature is elevated a second time, they will be withdrawn from the Championship and given information to consult a local physician.
If COVID-19 test results come back positive, the individual will receive the results, immediately be removed from the competition, given contact information for local a physician and will be directed to medical care. If medical care is unnecessary, the individual will be required to self-quarantine prior to traveling, following local guidelines. Contact tracing could be performed for those testing positive and exposed individuals will be asked to self-quarantine as well.
