The primary role of a PGA WORKS Ambassador is to be a mentor and positive influence to all student-athletes participating at the 2023 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship. We kindly ask that you support these student-athletes by answering any questions they may have about career opportunities or pathways with the PGA of America and golf industry as a whole. Overall, the goal is to educate and inspire student-athletes to pursue career opportunities in the business of golf and beyond. Have pride in this event, as the PWCC is considered the most culturally significant championship in collegiate golf!

Prior to the PWCC:

• Set-Up Direct Deposit HERE for your expenses. If you have completed this previously as an Ambassador, you do not need to resubmit.

• Download Your 2023 Expense Report HERE for the Championship. Please take photos of all receipts to submit with your expense report.

• Complete APS Training HERE. This is required for participation at Youth Day.

• Each Ambassador will be assigned a team(s) prior to this year's Championship. You will be the primary point of contact prior to, and during the PWCC for your assigned team. 

• Before this year's Championship, you will be asked to set up an introductory virtual meeting with your assigned team. Contact information for the coach of your assigned team will be provided by Scooter and Jeremy. 

During the PWCC:

• Ambassadors will connect with their assigned team when on-site and be the primary point of contact. A brief overview of each event for the week is below. A more detailed Schedule of Events is described further down on this page:

Youth Day Experience  - You will be paired up with a group and given talking points for the day.

Welcome Reception & Beyond the Green - Please sit with your assigned team and interact with the student-athletes.
PGA WORKS Partner Invitational - PLEASE BRING YOUR GOLF CLUBS. Use this time to enjoy golf while connecting with key PGA stakeholders, story-telling about the Championship, and networking.

Championship Rounds - Please follow your starting/scoring assignments and follow along with your assigned team to cheer them on during the competition!

All PGA WORKS Ambassadors will be provided meals from Saturday - Wednesday of Championship week in the breakdown below:

Breakfast 

• Sheraton Birmingham Hotel (Birmingham Ballroom)

• Saturday, May 6 - Wednesday, May 8

Lunch

• Shoal Creek OR Bent Brook Golf Course (both courses will have lunch available)

• Saturday, May 6 - Wednesday, May 10

Dinner

• Friday, May 5 - Sheraton Birmingham Hotel (Birmingham Ballroom)

• Saturday, May 6 - TopGolf Birmingham

• Sunday, May 7 - Tuesday, May 9 - Sheraton Birmingham Hotel (Birmingham Ballroom)

All PGA WORKS Ambassadors will be provided 3 shirts for the 2023 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship:

Saturday, May 6 - Youth Day, Junior PGA WORKS, & Welcome Reception

• Ambassadors are asked to support Youth Day through interaction and guidance of participants.

• There will be 2-3 Ambassadors assigned to each group

• Practice Round 1 will be taking place at both courses

• Junior PGA WORKS Round 1 will be taking place at Shoal Creek

• Welcome Reception to take place at TopGolf Birmingham beginning at 5:00pm

Sunday, May 7 - PGA WORKS Beyond the Green

• PGA WORKS Beyond the Green details to take place at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex - Children's Theater

• Practice Round 2 will be taking place at both courses

• Junior PGA WORKS Round 2 will be taking place at Shoal Creek

Monday, May 8 - Championship Round 1 & PGA WORKS Partner Invitational

• PGA WORKS Partner Invitational will be held at The Country Club of Birmingham starting at 11:30am

Tuesday, May 9 - Championship Round 2

• Championship Round 2 will be taking place at both courses

• Please follow your starting/scoring assignments

• Interaction with the team after the round (upon coach discretion)

Wednesday, May 10 - Championship Final Round

• The final round will be taking place at both courses

• Please follow your starting/scoring assignments

• Interaction with the team after the round (upon coach discretion)

• Stay for the awards ceremony to be conducted near the 18th green after play has concluded at Bent Brook & Shoal Creek

PGA REACH will cover approved expenses throughout the week. This will include your Uber/Lyft to and from the airport and any other necessary expenses. While you are on-site, it is expected that you do not expense additional food during the week as all meals are provided at no cost.

*Please remember to save and include all receipts on your expense reports, this is required for submission and approval

Transportation: We strongly recommend renting a car for the week. Please carpool with other Ambassadors if possible and make your reservations as soon as possible.

Parking: Available at the main parking garage of the Sheraton/Westin located between the two hotels on 22nd Street
