The Symphonic Band at Westview MS is directed by Adam Evans. The Symphonic Band is designed to provide students with an intermediate experience on band instruments. Curriculum for this course is an extension of the skills and concepts introduced in Beginner Band. Symphonic Band is open to all seventh and eighth grade students who have successfully completed Beginner Band. Here you will find resources for class and other information for students.
Sectionals are before or after school, instrument specific sessions with a band director or private lesson staff. This is an opportunity to work on each section’s music, tuning, blend, and balance outside of the context of the full ensemble. These sessions are integral to the success of the Westview Band, and as such are mandatory to attend. If a student needs to miss a sectional for another school-related activity or due to an emergency, their director must be notified.
