SPF-PFS
Strategic Prevention Framework-Partnerships for Success (PFS) grant was awarded to Preferred Family Healthcare in the fall of 2020 from the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) to address substance use prevention among youth and young adults. The goals are to enhance protective factors and to reduce substance use in the communities we serve. We assist in building developmental assets, implement evidence-based prevention programming for youth, provide 40 developmental asset training to adults, and focus on methamphetamine use in adults.

At-Risk Juvenile Prevention classes
(Project TND)
Project TND is an effective drug abuse prevention program that targets high school-age youth. It was developed by Steve Sussman, Ph.D. and staff at the Institute for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Research, in the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.
Search Institute has identified 40 positive supports and strengths that young people need to succeed. Half of the assets focus on the relationships and opportunities they need in their families, schools, and communities (external assets). The remaining assets focus on the social-emotional strengths, values, and commitments that are nurtured within young people (internal assets).
