Ms. Caudle's Read-Alouds

When the pandemic began, I started sharing read-alouds with my students and the world via YouTube. I've created more than 140 of these videos, and I'd love to share them with you, too! Click here for to view the full list of read-aloud books!

People to Ponder

Every week, we read picture book biographies to learn about diverse people in our world who have made a difference. Oftentimes, our students have heard of these folks before...and now we get to learn more about them. However, it is not uncommon for many new discoveries to be made through this Person to Ponder inquiry each week. We have so many rich, thoughtful discussions as we learn about these amazing people. We'll be updating this document throughout the year as we learn about people who positively influence the world around them.

Online Resources for Students and Families:

Clever Sign-in

This is a free app/site that allows kids to log into Freckle, Seesaw and Lexia without needing a password. They scan their own code via the Clever app. I will send home a copy of their code, and we'll have a printout here in the classroom as well.

Seesaw

Students will be using Seesaw as a tool in the classroom to be able to reflect on their own learning throughout the year. You can activate your parent Seesaw account to view and comment on their work. I may also be sharing photos through Seesaw, too.

Lexia

Lexia offers individualized practice with word work & phonics patterns, sight words, and reading comprehension. We will be doing some Lexia work in the classroom, but extra practice at home sometimes gives kids a helpful boost! Use Clever or individual code to sign in.

Epic Reading

Students can read unlimited books here at school and one per day at home.

You can sign up for more access if you'd like to create a (paid) home account.

Freckle/Front Row

We have this program available for individualized math practice. Although we use this in very limited amounts here at school, you are welcome to do more at home--for extra support and/or to zoom ahead with certain concepts.

School Website

The Mary Collins School website is a great resource for lots of important information. Whether you're trying to figure out the calendar, checking out the school newsletter, or learn about how to get involved, our site is there to help.

ParentSquare

School and district messages/posts are often sent using this program.

Click on one of the links below to download the app on your phone. You can customize how often you'd like to receive ParentSquare messages.
