We own a class set of VR headsets which students can place their phones inside. We also own 5 iPods/iPhones that can be used inside the devices for students who don't have their own devices.
Logistics: VR Field Trips can be one center our of several with students rotating to the activity. They can also be done half a class at a time (with Ms. Stoll leading the VR activity while the rest of the class does a different activity). They could also potentially be done as a whole class as long at enough students have their own devices. (The VR can be done on a Chromebook, but usually isn't as much fun as the VR goggles. However, some students who experience vertigo sometimes prefer the Chromebook option.)
Resources: I will list several general sources for free VR activities below and I will also curate a small selection of specific tours/activities for each department. If you would like me to locate other VR experiences to match specific standards and/or units you are teaching please let me know.
Google Expeditions (which used to provide free VR field trips) was merged with Google Arts and Culture. Students can access content from their chromebooks, but for VR field trips they will need to install the free App. Not all content is VR Headset compatible.
