Hello and welcome to kindergarten!
My name is Tracie Sheller and I love teaching kindergarten! Being in the classroom is so rewarding for me. Where else can one witness children unlocking the keys to literacy and math every day. Kindergarteners blow me away with how much they grow when presented with opportunities to discover new concepts and skills. I am honored to work with so many dedicated teachers as we develop lessons that provide the best learning opportunities for the children in our district. As often as possible, I will be posting pictures on our class Facebook page to give parents a window into the fun and learning that will be happening in our classroom.
Mrs. Sheller's Kindergarten Class
I graduated from Petal High and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Elementary Education from U.S.M. I have additional training in the Association Method(language disorders), Barton Method (dyslexia), LETERS(phonemic awareness/phonics), and Conscious Discipline (social/emotional). I continue to grow as a teacher by actively participating in our professional learning community and by attending seminars throughout the summer and during the school year.
Petal is my home. I grew up here and I have been blessed to have been able to raise my children here in this friendly city. Family is very important to me. My husband is Rick Sheller and we have three grown children Lauren, Madeline and Richard who are now all in different universities in the southeast. I enjoy cooking for my family, reading and growing plants.
