A Brief Summary of the Leg & Terrain Types
Leg 1:
Lots of easy running on a firm base. Minimal technical aspects. Flat and fast!
Leg 2:
Great running on firm, hard packed trails. A mix of wide and single trail to get your trail juices flowing!
Leg 3:
Epic Start leading onto beautiful single track, flowing fire-trails and forest! All runnable!
Leg 4:
Incredible running with all trail types. Some Climbing – mainly on single trail paired with stunning views. Trails have a firm base with some technical aspects.
Leg 5:
Good running with all trail types. Mainly on trails which mostly have a firm base and hard packed dirt. Some technical aspects after the hanging bridge and sealed footpath to the finish.
*Runnable trail. Poles can be used at your own risk. Our advice is to check out the elevation for each section to decide what's best for you.

Course Markings
The Course will be marked, and pre-checked before the event:

"Event Ahead" signage at key locations around course
A Sweep will follow behind the last runner removing course markings.
Leg 1: 11.9km
Collie Cemetry to Coalfields Highway Pipeline
Flat, fast and partially sealed!
This eases you into the Epic day and for the Solo runners the biggest challenge will be not going out too fast! For the teams, get your speedy road running mate to set your team up for the win!
This is the section for the road runners or the non-runners! It’s the least remote beside Coalfields highway on non technical paths and footpaths.
The last part of the course winding single track and then wide fire trail and an exhilerating climb into the checkpoint.

“Get Tanked” Coalfields Highway Pipeline to Dam Wall
Setting off on fire-trail, this section is undulating bliss! You can look ahead and see the journey unfolding!
You’ll pass one of the most epic tanks I’ve ever seen, and it’s personally my favorite leg to run because it has everything! You’ll get sexy single track and technical trail with the ups and downs.
Leg 2 finishes in Wellington NP at the Kiosk and Dam Wall where you can grab a craft beer, coffee, cake and a selfie with your teammates at the transition.

"Pynes Plod" Dam Wall to Kelly Road
(This distance may be more accurate than the gpx file distance. Map is accurate. Please plan for 20km)
Leg 3 starts on the Dam Wall (which is only accessible on weekends - if you're planning a recce)!
You quickly turn onto beautiful single trail Bibbulmun spur trail leaving behind all sealed paths with many kilometers of beautiful single track, flowing fire trails and forest.

Leg 4: 23.3km
"The Sticks" Kelly Road to Connell Road
Continuing north from Transition 3 runners pass the Yakkan campsite and the iconic “sticks”.
This is potentially the hardest part of the course with long sections of beautiful single track paired with undulations with dam viewings. Definitely challenging but enjoyable running.

"Homestretch" Connell Road to Golf Club
The Finish Line sees you at the Golf Club! This final stretch starts downhill and feels like that the entire way. Woohoo!

The CRU100 Solo Course.
We've made this year final stretch on the CRU100 super special! It contains a 15km section of out 'n' back trail. An opportunity to encourage fellow 100km runners!
The best part about this is you'll have access to an aid station on the way out and back, which you can even have a drop bag at and friends and family can meet and cheer you on!

Elevation Gain / Loss: +1599/- 1605m (watches will vary)

This is such an epic Ultra!
This course starts at the Dam Wall - which means you'll be running Leg 3 / Leg 4 / Leg 5, as detailed above.

We have a bus organized to take participants from Collie Golf Club (Race Finish & Race HQ) to the Dam Wall (50k Start). The first bus for CRU50 leaves at 7:30am and we highly recommend you get on this one.
