Skills don't exist in a vacuum
All of the skills and materials covered in this module are couched in real-world contexts, so students come away with knowledge of not just the skills but how they are used and why they are important and valued in the world.
Public relations (PR) is the practice of managing the release and spread of information between an individual or an organization and the public. Luis works at a company that serves this function.
Students will draft communications with their 'manager' which convey their progress and achievements.
The technical skills taught in this module revolve around the Command Line Interface (CLI). Students will learn CLI basics and explore some of the key functionality these skills can help support.
The Technical project revolves around creating a customized, automated tool for data collection for new employees at Luis' company.
The final project in this course asks the student to research a current role being advertised in the field of I.T. Support and create a presentation (slideshow, video, podcast, etc) on the steps they would need to take in order to one day work in position like it.
