Part of promoting school safety and positive behavior is teaching students to have a growth mindset and to believe in the “Power of Yet.” Students are taught everyone can learn and show growth with effective effort. Instead of saying, “I can’t do it,” students are taught to say, “I can’t do it… YET.” We believe it’s okay to make mistakes and that mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow.

My Learning Tools, 2022

To kick off the 22-23 school year, we invited motivational speaker, Jim “Basketball” Jones to put on an assembly for our students. During the assembly, students were taught to have a positive growth mindset, to believe in the Power of Yet, to set goals and to work hard to achieve those goals. To go along with the assembly, teachers read Jones’ three inspirational books from the “Bouncy and Friends” series which build upon this uplifting message.
