Spelling

Each week, we will study a spelling list that focuses on prefixes, suffixes, homophones and root words. Each student has a spelling notebook where they write down their spelling words, and practice. In addition, we will be using 2 websites to practice our words. First is the flippity website, where the spelling lists are available. This site also allows them to practice a play a few games. The second website is the Free Online Spelling Training website, where they can type in their own spelling list each week to practice their words.

Students will have in class time to study their words during our reading group time, when they are not in a reading group. Of course, they may also practice at home if they wish.

Spelling tests will be at the end of the day on Thursday.
