Welcome to Standards Based Learning--Practitioner Level

During this course, you will utilize everything you learned in NOVICE about Units (Understanding by Design) and FIP (Formative Instructional Practices) to begin moving toward learner-centered classroom environments and the personalized needs of learners. Within a course you currently teach, teachers will be able to interact with accurate and varied assessments, create depth experiences for students beyond proficiency, utilize the extended standards that are foundational to proficiency for unique students, and develop student ownership of learning through use of high quality data.

Most of this class will be online coupled with colleagues who are also participating in the SBL Series as well as feedback sessions with the instructor during/after your class time. The course calendar will keep you on track in this learning opportunity through work sessions together.

At the conclusion of the class, you will share artifacts of your learning of the concepts above with your building principal that indicates your understanding of the concepts and how this training will impact your teaching.
