NEED TO KNOW INFORMATION + FAQs FOR PICTURES

DANCE PICTURE DAYS:
MARCH 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 DURING REGULAR DANCE CLASS DAYS/TIMES
**Tuesday 5:45pm (Hip Hop2) will have a picture time of 6:30pm - notes were sent home with dancers 3/10.

WHERE?
PERFORMING HEARTS DANCE STUDIO - WE'RE SET UP ALL WEEK LONG!
(No regular dance class this week for any class, only pictures)

WHEN DO COSTUMES COME HOME?
Beginning the week of 3/2 through 3/12 (dependent on class).  All costumes include tights, except Miss Ally's Hip Hop classes, and they will come home with the costumes.  We keep ALL hairpieces so they don't go missing - they will wear them for picture day and then will be ready to go for recital when dancers arrive. 

WHAT DOES MY DANCER NEED FOR PICTURE DAY?
Dancers should come photo-ready!!  The only things your dancer needs to have for picture day is their costume, tights and dance bag.  Wear regular shoes to the studio and we will change into their shoes once the class. is all here together.  Please drop your dancer at the door like for classes - it is going to be a mad house here with glitter, excited kiddos and hairpieces. 

HOW LONG WILL PICTURES TAKE?
Please plan for the entire duration of your child's dance class - this way we can take our time to be sure you get a couple quality individual + group pictures of your dancer and their class.  If you leave, please come back with ten minutes before class ends.  Arrive NO MORE than ten minutes before class begins with your dancer too. 

DOES MY DANCER NEED THEIR HAIR + MAKEUP DONE?
We strongly suggest some makeup on dancers because of flash photography.
Blush, eyeshadow and lipstick go a long way and help faces from being washed out. Don't worry, we double check faces to be sure nothing is smudged and there's no lipstick on teeth.

Getting hair done is not required by our studio, especially for pictures, we will have extra hairspray if flyaways need to be tamed at all too.  NO SLICKBACK PONYTAILS PLEASE - your dancer will look bald.

MY DANCER RIPPED THEIR TIGHTS, WHAT DO I DO?
Fear not, we have backups for sale!  One pair of tights is included in costume cost, but if more are needed we have them available for $10/tights - just let us know.   Also, if your dancer is texture sensitive, these tights will be your new favorite thing - the waistband is very soft and the tights have a buttery feel about them... we promise there will be no complaining that they feel funny.

WHAT DO I DO WITH COSTUMES WHEN THEY COME HOME?

A couple of things need to happen when costumes come home:

1. Take costume out of bag (no matter which bag it comes in) and hang it up - let gravity do it's job for a couple days and just put tights in a safe place. Big tutus should be fluffed and left out of bag so they can remain full

2. Wrinkles? DO NOT IRON!  Bring the costume into the bathroom when you shower and let steam settle out some of the wrinkles that may still be hanging out - they will eventually go away, don't panic.

3. Tell dancer that Miss Cally + Miss Ally say you cannot wear costume to school, no matter how pretty it is, after recital is finished in June they can wear it grocery shopping if they really want!

4. Hide pretty costume in your closet after pictures until recital :)

MY HIP HOP DANCER SAID THEY HAVE SHOES, WHERE ARE THEY?
Those stay in studio until the last week of class. 

WHEN DO WE GET OUR PHOTOS?
Our goal is to have all online family galleries ready to go by mid-May with edited group and individual photos. Please note that we do our photos and edits in house, and are in the midst of putting on our recitals as well... things take a bit of time for us this time of year.

ARE PHOTOS MANDATORY?  WE MIGHT BE OUT TO TOWN SINCE IT'S THE WEEK BEFORE SPRING BREAK.
No, dance pictures are not mandatory.  We're making things simple this year by having a built-in week dedicated to photos so we don't commandeer another weekend before our rehearsals and recitals... but if you're going to be out of town because of early spring break plans, it's okay.  Or, if you're dancer will miss one day but not another (multiple classes) please reach out to Miss Ally or Miss Cally about bringing their costume with to one class for indiviudal pictures.

WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE SIBLING PHOTOS?
Talk with Miss Ally in person or via email - sibling photos will be an additional $50 this year, please pay by check or cash.  It will be an endcap during one of your dancer's classes - please expect at least 2 poses included in your gallery with these pictures.  

WHEN ARE COMPANY DANCE PICTURES? 

Same day as their scheduled company class.  The costumes are held here for ALL Company dancers so send them in all black and their tights/nude leo so we can get them changed.
