The Pequannock Valley Media Center is dedicated to helping students become independent readers, thinkers, and researchers; encouraging a genuine and lifelong love of reading in many different formats and genres; and fostering the 21st century information literacy skills students will need to be productive and successful members of society. The Pequannock Valley Library Program seeks to train students to access, evaluate, and use information effectively, and to utilize the inquiry process in all areas of the curriculum, and for their personal information needs as well.
We also encourage a schoolwide culture of reading and experimentation, and have a dynamic lunchtime library program that students utilize on a daily basis. Students have consistent input into the collection development process through our periodic online reading surveys, where they can request their favorite authors, titles, series, and genres.
