Pequannock Township High School offers four academies that students can apply do in Eighth Grade. PTHS offers the following academies:
Allied Health: Our Allied Health Academy partners with Chilton Medical Center where students will complete job shadowing in their Junior Year and internships in their senior year. Students can earn credit from Rutgers University for courses in the Allied Health program.
Aviation: The Aviation Academy is an exciting academy that provides students with the opportunity to pursue learning in one of two fields, aviation or unmanned aircrafts (drones). The curriculum, created by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) is based on input from top aviation experts. Hands on, inquiry-based activities, aligned to Next Generation Science Standards have students ready to take license exams by the end of their four years in the academy.
STEM: The STEM Academy is a four year academy focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Students in their senior year complete internships with local companies. Students receive dual enrollment credit through Seton Hall University.
Teaching and Learning: Are you interested in the field of education? Our Teaching and Learning Academy is partnered with William Paterson University to provide courses focused on all aspects of education. Students will get to observe teachers, participate in professional development and learn about the instructional strategies to help students succeed in the classroom. Students can earn college credit through William Paterson University.
