Half Day Schedule

Important PRocedures

Drop off/pick up procedures

  • Pequannock Township High School has multiple doors that are used for entry into the building.

  • Students will be required to enter the building at the door nearest their first class period of the day. Parents and students will be notified of these drop off locations and social distance as they are dropping off their children.

  • Health checks will be performed prior to entry.

  • Students can arrive as early as 7:15 and will be permitted to enter the building by district security at 7:25

  • Students will be spaced out by at least three feet and wearing face coverings upon arrival

  • Students driving to school and parking on campus should remain in their cars until 7:20 A.M.

  • Students will report directly to the first class of the day (Period 1 or Period 5)

  • Students arriving late will enter through the main entrance. Staff at the kiosk will notify the classroom teacher that the student will be arriving to class

  • Dismissal from class will be staggered by corridor to avoid overcrowding in the hallways. Students will be expected to exit the building at the front and rear of the hallway (nearest exit). Masks are required at dismissal.

  • To limit the risks associated with congregating in smaller spaces, in the event of inclement weather students will enter the building upon arrival and report to the following locations, in which they will wear masks and maintain social distance:

    • 500 classrooms - Auditorium

    • 400 classrooms - Cafeteria

    • 300 classrooms - Small Gym

    • 200 classrooms - Big gym

  • Students who are being picked up by a parent will follow regular procedures of reporting directly to the security vestibule when notified by the office.

  • Full time Morris County Vo-Tech students will meet in the lobby by the big gym, and then wait to be picked up. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.

  • Sign in procedures will remain the same for shared time Morris County Vo Tech students.

Expectations for Student Learning and Engagement

It is expected that all students will:

  1. Treat each day like a school day: be present, be prepared, sign-in, and participate

  2. Wear an appropriate mask when in school buildings and when social distancing is not possible.

  3. Attend the live instruction schedule provided by your teachers

  4. When remote, have your camera turned on during live instruction

  5. Microphone should remain muted unless your are engaging in a class discussion or otherwise directed by your teacher

  6. When engaged in remote learning, students must wear school-appropriate attire

  7. In your remote setting, keep your background appropriate and free of distractions

  8. In your remote setting, establish a suitable work space either at a desk or a table, with needed supplies at hand

  9. Complete and submit all assignments on time (see grading expectations below)

  10. Adhere to the PTSD Student Code of Conduct while in school buildings and remote

Grading and Assessment

For PV & HS

    • 95% Assessments OF Learning: Tests/Quizzes, Projects, Essays, etc.

      • Late or missing assignments will not be accepted past the 5th school day. Work submitted on or before the 5th day will be accepted and graded accordingly.

      • 3-5 major assessments a marking period. Feedback provided within 2 weeks.

  • 5% Assessments FOR Learning: Classroom Activities/Practice/Homework

    • Late work will not be accepted past the due date.

    • Grades can be entered as UNS (0%).

Remote Instruction

All teachers have prepared their Google Classrooms with distance learning activities. Each class will following the bell schedule. Teachers will be available to virtually meet with students during their scheduled class time. Students and parents can ask questions and interact with their teacher.

Student IDs

Identification is difficult when individuals are wearing facial coverings. Once the ID cards become available, students at PV and PTHS will be expected to wear identification while in school.

Visitors

  • Visitors to Pequannock Township High School will be limited.

  • All visitors must report to the main entrance and enter through the security vestibule.

  • Visitors must have an appointment. Government issued IDs are required as well as verification of a phone number at which the visitor can be contacted, if needed, for contact tracing purposes

  • At this time, no alumni will be permitted to visit while school is in session.

  • Visitors and late arriving students will be subject to a health check by a Pequannock Township School District employee prior to entering the building.

  • All visitors will be required to wear a mask.

  • We can allow only one visitor at a time in the security vestibule.

  • Dropping off of items will not be permitted as there is no way that those items can be sanitized.
