Prior to submitted an Initial Request for Behavior Support, please make sure the following actions are complete:
Parents have been made aware of the behavior concerns
Parents have been keep up-to-date with challenges in the classroom and are aware the referral is coming
Data has been collected and is ready to submit with the referral form
What happens next?
Based on the data submitted and first observation the District Behaviorist will decide which of the following to complete:
IBO- Informal Behavior Observation (30 School Days)
Single observation
Strategies emailed to teacher, parent and administrator
FBO- Functional Behavior Observation (45 School Days)
1-2 Observations
1-3 Page Report w/Recommendations
Report to teacher, parent, administrator; Uploaded on RealTime →Documents-Observation
Meeting with the parents- optional
FBA- Functional Behavior Assessment (60 School Days)
Full Comprehensive Report: Records Review, Interviews, Surveys, Observations in Various Environments, Additional Data Collection & possible Functional Analysis and/Preference Assessment
Formal Behavior Intervention/Management Plan developed
Meeting with parent and team to review the FBA & gain consent for implementing BIP
