"'Quality' and 'Integrity' have many definitions; in this context WSCUC understands them to mean a rich, coherent, and challenging educational experience, together with assurance that students consistently meet the standards of performance that the institution has set for that educational experience."

Students of the German program have been recognized by receiving awards, being accepted for graduate studies, and entering their professions. Representative examples are: David King (2002): received a J.D. degree and practiced law for several years, then later received a Ph.D. degree in political science and became a professor; Sean Wright (1996): received an M.B.A. degree from Wharton School of Business, interned with Allianz Insurance in Germany and later was employed by Allianz Insurance; Maximillian Muller (2014): has been pursuing a Ph.D. in philosophy at University of Cologne in Germany; Henry Wolfgang Carter (1985): received the J.D. degree while on a California State Governor's Fellowship; Jeremy Haug (1995): received a Fulbright Award to teach English for a year at a German high school; Diana Perez-Buck (1996): received a Fulbright Award for a year to teach English at a German high school; Ruth Dowdey-LĂ©vai (1998): majored in German and French; received a Fulbright Award to teach English at a French high school; received an M.A. degree from Moscow State University in comparative literature; currently completing a Ph.D. in comparative literature at University of Budapest; Kristina Buchholz (2000): received a Fulbright Award to teach English in a German high school; Molly Oster (2006): received a Fulbright Award for research work in Germany; Keith Colclough (2008): received a Fulbright Award for a year of study and training as an opera singer; completed a Ph.D. degree in music at UCSB and is a visiting professor in the Fine Arts Division; Tony Shaver (2008): received a DAAD Award from Germany for graduate studies in biology; Lindsey Banister (2009): received a Fulbright Award for a year to teach English at a German high school; Anjel Helms (2009): received a Fulbright Award for a year of research in biology at a German university; later received a full scholarship for Ph.D. studies at Penn State University; Leslie Reed (2009): received a Fulbright Award for a year to teach English at a German school; completed a Ph.D. degree in German at Vanderbilt University and received a faculty position at Abilene Christian University; Natalie Forde (2013): received an internship at Yad Vashem in Israel; received a Fulbright Award for a year to teach English at a German high school; now employed at Pepperdine University in the International Programs office; Steven Fleming (2016): received a Fulbright Award for research work in Germany; Christopher Mazich (2017): received a Fulbright Award for a year to teach English at a German high school; currently in an M.Ed. program at USC; Micah Lambert (2017): received a Fulbright Award for a year to teach English at a German high school; currently pursuing an M.A. at University of Marburg in Germany.
