WEAC Scholarship-DUE FEBRUARY 1

  • We are pleased to let you know that the Wisconsin Education Association Council is again offering a scholarship to eligible high school seniors who are planning to enter the field of education. Winners of the scholarship will receive a grant of $1,450.00 per year for four years of study, provided they remain eligible.

High school seniors who are planning to go into the field of education and whose parent(s) are a WEAC member, a WEAC retired member or who died while holding a WEAC membership are eligible to apply.

In addition, the student must rank in the top 25% of his/her class or have achieved a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (based on a 4.0 non-weighted scale) at the time of application, plan to pursue an education major or minor and intend to teach in Wisconsin. (All A's = 4 points, B's = 3 points, C's = 2 points, D's = 1 point, F's = 0 points.)

Each year one of the four scholarships shall be designated the Kathy Mann Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship shall be awarded to a minority student. In the event that no minority student applies or meets the criteria, the Kathy Mann Scholarship shall not be awarded. In its place a regular WEAC Scholarship shall be awarded.

Scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than February 1, 2018.
