Community and spreading the love of music is at the heart of what we do.
We offer a place where people of all ages, all backgrounds, and all abilities, can be part of musical creativity – we’re a centre for musical expression, creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning experiences, bringing music alive and people together. From youth orchestras to community choirs, from toddler ballet to jazz academy, there are so many ways to get creative and do something new, while enjoying meeting new people.
Wiltshire Music Centre is the host organisation for Celebrating Age Wiltshire.
At Wiltshire Creative we know that the arts have great power to positively impact the lives of our community in Salisbury, Wiltshire, and beyond. We strive to provide access to the arts to everyone, whether you want to get involved, learn something new or just sit back and watch a show!
The Take Part programme includes four main strands: Young People, Education, Community and Classes and courses

A project that uses high-quality creative arts, heritage, and cultural activity as a vehicle to improve or maintain the health and wellbeing of older people, including those who are most socially isolated or vulnerable due to dementia, reduced mobility, ill health, or caring responsibilities.
Celebrating Age Wiltshire (CAW) is a highly respected arts and heritage project for older, vulnerable adults. We work closely with community organisations, champions & volunteers to ensure we connect with those who need us and programme our events into accessible community venues like village halls, community centres and sheltered housing lounges. All our events are free of charge, happen during daylight hours, provide free light refreshments and incorporate social time.

#Music
Music and creativity to support people with long term health conditions, adults with learning disabilities and intergenerational communities.
Sounds Better is a social enterprise working primarily in the south of the UK (predominantly WIltshire), running participatory music projects across the community and in care and educational settings. We are passionate about the power of participatory music to enable change within individuals, institutions and in relationships between people.
Our work focuses on four main areas:
– people with long term health conditions (especially dementia, Parkinson's and lung conditions)
– people with learning disabilities
– intergenerational music-making
– training other community musicians and people who wish to incorporate participatory music-making into their work.
Our ethos is about empowerment through and with music, leading to healthier, happier and more creative and connected communities.

For Creative Health to successfully embed into systems, it's important to seek out partners in health and in the voluntary sector. By using the key health documents and strategies that set out priorities for a county, Creative Health work can include focussed programmes working with people facing the greatest barriers to health.
