Student and Family Support Services

William Penn is happy to announce that we continue to have the Billy Penn Food Pantry here at the school.  We understand that these are tough times and the pantry is available to all of our families who may need some additional help making ends meet.   Please contact the School Social Worker, Megan Hough if your family is in need or if you would like to coordinate a donation to the pantry.  She can be reached at mhough@pennsburysd.org or at 215-397-5452 (call or text).

Student Wellness/Support Opportunities during the school day:

We are happy to announce that the Pennsbury Middle School campus will be partnering with several outside service providers to bring more emotional support opportunities to our schools, including Treehouse, Safe Harbor Grief Group, and Strengthening Families with Child and Family Focus.

Treehouse will be facilitating a support group at each of our middle schools for students who may be experiencing a hardship or struggle in his or her life.  The goal of the peer support group is to create a space where students feel safe sharing what’s going on in their lives and receive support from peers and adult leaders (see the attached flyer).  The group will meet one time per week during the school day throughout the school year.  Treehouse Permission Form

Safe Harbor, a local grief support provider, will be offering a seven week support group in the fall for students who may be grieving the  loss of a loved one.  Group will take place during the school day once a week for seven weeks (tentative start date in late October). Safe Harbor Permission Form

Strengthening Families (SFP) is a seven session evidence-based prevention program that is effective in improving family relationships and decreasing family conflicts.  SFP reduces the likelihood of youth alcohol, tobacco and marijuana use, decreases youths’ experience of depression and anxiety, and increases youths’ engagement in school and overall school success.   This program will take place on Wednesday nights from 5:30pm to 8:00pm  at Pennwood Middle School starting on October 4th, 2023.  Dinner is provided!  This program is open to students and families from all three middle schools.  Please see the attached flyer and complete registration form here: Strengthening Families Series Form

If you have any questions or would like additional information on any of these things, please contact your child's School Social Worker, Megan Hough at mhough@pennsburysd.org or at 215-397-5452 (call or text).
