This site was created to support teachers with students approved for an extended absence to connect to the classroom remotely from home.
Students who are home for an extended period of time will have the ability to connect into the classroom live, via a Google Meet, arranged by the classroom teacher. External cameras were purchased to support this initiative.
The BCC950 Conference Cam was purchased district-wide for classroom teachers to use when one or more students are approved for at-home learning. The camera connects to the teacher laptop and provides video and audio for the student at home.
Remote learning students are observers only, unless the teacher decides to open engagement with the student(s) such as questions or interactions.
Teachers are not expected to record live lessons.
The camera will not be used for things like a formal observation.
The camera should remain in a fixed location and not to be moved around the room.
Students who are attending remote learning will be considered an "excused absence".
