"Runaway Truck Ramp"

First graders explored various forces including PUSH, PULL and FRICTION. They learned that FRICTION can help slow down a vehicle and also helps objects "stick" to a surface. We tested Hess Trucks on various surfaces to see how FRICTION affected the motion of the truck. First graders learned about "Runaway Truck Ramps" on steep declines and then created their own! We tested their designs with a ramp and a Runaway Hess truck.
