Public examinations take place during November, January and May/June for pupils in years 10 and 11.

The pdf above shows the after school revision offer for Year 11. Pupils are invited to attend these sessions to support them with their examination preparation.
At Pencoedtre High School pupils in years 10 and 11 also have the opportunity to gain qualifications in vocational subjects.

During the school year pupils in year 11 will take part in internal assessments that will contribute to their qualifications. These can be in the form of Non Examination Assessments (NEA's), Oral Assessments or Practical Assessments depending on the subject studied. The pdf document here outlines the dates of these assessments to support pupils and parents with their planning.
In order to support pupils in Key Stage 4 with their GCSE examinations we have produced a revision booklet that all pupils in years 10 and 11 received in their assemblies. This contains links to useful websites that will support your child with their revision.

The exam timetable above is for any pupil studying Pearson BTEC qualifications.

The JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) regulates and sets out the rules and regulations for conducting any examination in PHS. A summary of the information for candidates can be found here, it is advised that all pupils are familiar with this information.
