Mission Statement

Our goal is to provide not only our immediate community but all those surrounding it the access to information, resources, and the feeling of knowing that they are not alone. Our hope is to make more readily available the resources necessary to provide the help you need to get you through the day, week, month, and year. As a community that has lost so much in such a short span of time, we are determined to let others know that they are not alone in their struggle.

That WE are here for each other.

This project is the result of an AP Literature & WE service project focused on mental health with the intent of spreading awareness and resources.

Disclaimer: This is created by students, for students. It is not a replacement for therapy, it is made for mental health awareness and to let students know it is okay to seek help.

Growing up, so many of my peers and I were negatively affected by tragedies of childhood trauma that, in turn, affected our mental health. After noticing that many of my peers weren’t aware of any resources available to them, my fellow classmates and I decided that we want to create a safe space to inform and help alleviate the pain of trauma. By creating this website, I hope that we can provide comfort and help to anyone who needs it, no matter who they are and what they are going through.

Living in a small town, one tragedy can affect everybody, even if you never knew the person or people involved. Although I have personally never been affected by tragedy, I have seen the way other students have, and many are unaware of the resources available to them. By creating this website, I hope it will allow others to have easy access to the resources they need for both dealing with tragedy and better mental health.

Many people in my life, including myself, have been hit incredibly hard by tragedy and trauma and were unaware of many of the resources available to us. I believe that every student should be entitled to feeling welcome and accepted in their environment and should have access to a network of resources, better yet put together by their fellow peers. Being there for one another is one of the most important aspects of being a community.

I am doing this website because I have lost so many people and I want to provide others with the necessary resources so that they never feel loneliness in the face of tragedy. So many people struggle with trauma and mental illness and I hope that the resources we provide encourage people to find the help they deserve.

I am a big advocate for helping others and offering them guidance. This website we are creating can do just that, especially for our peers, within and outside our community. By no means is this group mental health experts, therapists, or psychologists. However, our purpose is to guide and offer resources to those who feel lost or alone. The resources we have included allow the students to have multiple outlets to help find solutions that they may not have been aware of.
