A Q & A with Mr. Fulmine
by Devin Anderlionis & Laci Wilson
Mr. Fulmine is a Special Education Teacher at PHS. He teaches Math and English, working with mostly Sophomores and Juniors. He also coaches football, basketball, and track. Mr. Fulmine grew up on Oldham Pond and attended Bryantville Elementary School in Pembroke for the first grade. After moving to Carver at the age of eight, he remains there to this day with his wife and goldendoodle Beau. He played both highschool and college football. In college, he studied criminal justice and education at Endicott. There he volunteered to coach at a football camp which inspired him to become a teacher. He said, “After that it felt like I was meant to teach.” After working at Carver for two years he heard of a job opening in Pembroke in 2018 and saw it as an opportunity to “rekindle the flame.”
Below is a Q&A with Mr. Fulmine.
Where did you attend college and what was your major?
I attended Endicott College and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a minor in history. In 2019 I graduated from Endicott again with my Masters degree in education. Go Gulls!
Did you think you would teach in Pembroke?
Originally no, I graduated from Carver so I thought I would end up going back and teaching there forever. In 2018, I was working in Carver when I saw an opening here. I interviewed with Mr. Talbot, Mr. Rix, and Ms. Kelley and landed the job, obviously.
What has been your favorite thing about working here at Pembroke High School?
The students. I have been here for five years as a special education teacher and it has always been fun to wake up and to come to work. I was always told “If you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life,” and that is so true. The people here make it easy to come to work every day, whether it is teaching, coaching Football, Basketball, or Track, or even Advisory Mondays. (Devin and Laci are in Mr. Fulmine’s advisory.) I also love the staff here as well.
When did you first start coaching in Pembroke?
I started in 2019 and assistant coached varsity here for one year. I then coached two years as a varsity assistant in Carver and in 2022 became the head freshman football coach at Pembroke.
