Ms. McCormack is a teacher here at Pembroke, She teaches English and Business courses. She has been a teacher at Pembroke for 24 years. Ms. McCormack has a lot to say about her years teaching so let's see what she has to say!
Q:Where did you go to college and what did you major in?
A: I went to Umass Dartmouth and Boston University. I have a bachelor of arts in writing and a master of arts in teaching.
Q: What classes do you teach and what one is your favorite?
A: I teach Business Communications and AP Lang. I enjoy teaching both for different reasons. AP Lang is rigorous while business comms is relevant.
Q:Did you have any prior teaching experience before pembroke?
A: Yes, I taught at Plymouth North for 7 years and also did my student teaching at Plymouth North.
Q: What are your hobbies outside of school?
A: I love to be outdoors. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, riding horses, and mountain biking. I just love to be active.
Q: Was it always your plan to be a teacher?
A: No, I worked in law for 15 years and even thought about law school.
Q: What is your favorite lesson to teach?
A: Something that engages students and utilizes art and language. I like anything that is relevant and carries outside the classroom.
Q: What is your favorite memory as a teacher?
A: A while back I was in a terrible accident and the school was so supportive and my students got me a personalized blanket. That really just showed me how much they cared!
